Blackbird Fly TLR.

I love love love this camera! Its actually a 35mm plastic camera. But it takes some pretty great photographs. Its light, and I like to through it in my purse and just keep it on me ready to go. Its a pretty expensive camera since its made of plastic but it is so well made! If you want a good quality plastic camera that will last and actually work, this is the camera to make the investment in! It comes with interchangeable plates so you can control how much of the negative is exposed. Ive done square format and also full sprocket. Its a really fun camera to have!

Pentax K1000 35mm camera, with a 50mm lens.

This was a gift to me from my Dad. Two years ago I started college and my dad convinced me to study photography and change my major. He was so excited that when we were at my freshmen orientation he went out and bought me this camera. My dad had the same one when he was in college and really wanted me to have one for school.
Basically to get into my department you have to take an entire year of black and white film photography. This camera is just the perfect camera for learning photography basics. It is all manual. So you have to set your exposure and focus. It took me a little bit to get the hang of it, but in the end I made some beautiful photographs and was one of 32 freshmen accepted to the program.

I highly recommend this camera if you want a simple 35mm camera and want to be able to control everything with out the confusion.

A 1984 Polaroid 600 Series camera.

I bought this at a antique store for 10 bucks, never even been used! Seriously, there was still plastic on the straps. Takes great pictures as long as you have the film. I hate how Polaroids are becoming a hipster thing because I think they are just really fun to have. And by hipster thing, I bought one and they lady asked me if I was apart of a group who used them. Nope, i’m just a photographer who like photos.

If you can afford to buy the film, look for a Polaroid!!!

Nikon D60. My only DSLR. My parents bought me my camera for Christmas of 2008. So  I have had it for almost 4 years and it is still a great camera. This camera has traveled the world! I plan on upgrading to a newer one sometime this year, FINALLY.

Some nice quick points  of this camera that I really like are:

+For being a 10.2 Megapixel camera the quality of photographs is great!
+The body of this camera is lighter and smaller than most DSLR because when it was released a few years back Nikon was attempting to make a lighter and smaller dSLR. Which is nice if you have small hands and the lighter body is nice when you have a heavy lens.

+This camera has the basic settings as most dslr cameras have, manual, sport, portrait, ect. Which are great if you are a beginner and I definitely used these in the beginning when I was first learning a few years ago.

Although this camera is now outdated in the digital world, I believe a very good equivalent would be the Nikon D3100 if you are looking for a nice camera without all the bells and whistles and want to learn photography!

This camera is my baby. It has been thrown on my back while rock climbing, zip lining, snowboarding, boating, in the middle of no where and across the world. Charlie [my nikons name] has stood up against the elements and challenges. Its very durable and one of my favorite things about it because I don’t have to worry if its going to break.

For the lens, I have on it a basic 18-55mm f3.5-5.6. Its a kit lens that came with the camera and I think it is a great start out lens. Not much to say about it since its pretty basic. It doesn’t have a wide aperture range but it will get the job done when are learning how to use the body of the camera. This lens is generally the lens that stays on my camera since I am mainly a film photographer. This lens satisfies my digital needs for  the most part.

So yes, this is my only digital camera and I love it!

Okay!

I am going to start posting pictures and reviews on my gear I use to make my photographs. Since I am a photo student as well,  I will be posting about my “school supplies” as well. Like my film, paper, ect. I am going to work on some videos as well! More to come so look out for it :]

Should I do a post about my cameras/gear?

I don’t have all of my cameras with me since they’re in MT, but there are plenty of stock photos online. I’m bored so maybe that is what i’ll do!
